Moroccan Yellow Pea Tagine
Introduction
This tagine is a delicious and nutritious vegetarian dish that is packed with flavour. The yellow peas are cooked in a rich and flavourful broth with spices like cumin, coriander, and turmeric, and then topped with a layer of tender vegetables.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup whole dried yellow peas
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 3 cups vegetable broth
- 1 cup chopped tomatoes
- 1 cup chopped carrots
- 1 cup chopped zucchini
- 1 cup chopped spinach
- Chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish
Instructions:
- Rinse the yellow peas and soak them in water overnight or for at least 4 hours.
- Drain the peas and rinse them again.
- In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the garlic, cumin, coriander, turmeric, salt, and pepper and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Add the vegetable broth, tomatoes, carrots, zucchini, and spinach. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
- Add the drained peas and simmer for an additional 30 minutes, or until the peas are cooked through.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot.
Tips:
- For a richer flavour, you can use chicken or vegetable stock instead of water.
- Add a pinch of cayenne pepper for a spicier dish.
- Serve the tagine with warm pita bread or couscous.

Good Price and Value for the product . I will order once again . Website can be improved more ,it was difficult to login as the site was keep on saying no valid user name. I registered by choosing CZ currency which is not valid for EUR . Payment option with paypal can be extended.
Had a very good meal in Dookan restaurant today. Masala dosa, sambar idly, on request family dosa and the best vadai/vada. Dosa and vadai were so tasty and crispy. Friendly staff.👌😋🌟
